Registered Election Official (REO) Program

In January 2015, the TAEA began working with the Election Center to offer a training program for Texas Election Officials. This program is conducted over a two-year period with four courses made available each year at the TAEA Mid-Winter Conference.

The courses are designed to help Elections Administrators, County Clerks, Voter Registrars and their respective staffs better understand the steps and processes involved in administering an election.

The REO program consists of eight courses:

I Voting Equipment Acquisition, Operation, and Maintenance
II Ballot Access, Design, & Preparation
III Pollworkers: Recruiting, Maintaining, Training, & Managing
IV Federal and Constitutional Law on Voter Registration and Elections
V Voter Registration Process
VI Integrity of Elections
VII Requirements for Precincts and Polling Places
VIII Managing the Voter Registration and Election Office

To date 78 Election Officials have completed the program and received their REO certification.
